This past weekend we celebrated the upcoming wedding for my older brother. I was so excited to put together an evening combo party. We hosted the engagement/bridal shower/bachelorette/rehearsal dinner on Saturday night at our home. I decided to go all out since my sister-in-law didn’t really get the chance to have all the hoopla. I’m not sure how much she cares about all the crazy wedding stuff, but I LOVE it…so it was my chance to craft and have some fun with their special time.
Loved making this sign for the door – we are going to use it for the reception as well. Bought the sign at Joann’s for only $2.49. Spray painted and added a bow plus lettering. All for under $5.
Silk Hydrangeas for the wedding tables. Simple, inexpensive and elegant. Created from items bought at the 99 Cent store and Big Lots. Each centerpiece only cost $2.09 to make.
I bought these stemless wine glasses at Pier 1 for only $3 each. I added some lettering from Joann’s and voila – toasting glasses that are easy to hold and look beautiful at the same time. Under $3.50 per glass. I love that my Dad’s glass says FOG – Father of Groom.
Simple hearts cut out off thick golden paper and a menu for the occasion makes everything a little fancier for only pennies.
I bought frames of different sizes at Big Lots, Joann’s and Target. I spray painted them white for the bride and filled with photos of the couple throughout their relationship. Great easy decor that can be used as a thoughtful gift for the happy couple.
No wedding event would be complete with out sweets and bubbles. I baked these gluten free chocolate cupcakes using a Betty Crocker box mix. I topped with Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting and created cake toppers from stickers and flags with the wedding date and cute sayings.
I created a mock tail/cocktail called “The Blushing Bride”. Pour a glass of bubbly, either sparkling wine or soda into a glass. Add a splash of Blood Orange Italian Soda and POM Wonderful juice in either pomegranate or pom/cherry.
